About

This is not just an art project. It's a vivid reflection of the brutality of war and the resilient spirit of the Ukrainian people, captured through 36 monochrome frames. Aiming to awaken consciousness and provoke a response through the medium of art, this collection is the creation of Michael Nekrasov, the photographer and author of the project

Deep Dive

Emotional Essence

Each frame serves as a 'calendar' of war, reflecting the collective experiences of the Ukrainian people.

Global Message

This is our call to the world: to see, understand, and support Ukraine. In these challenging times, as Ukraine stands at the forefront of the fight for democracy and freedom, the support of the entire civilized world is not just important—it's vital.

Echoing Reality

The echo of war is the reverberation of modern Ukrainian history, written every day under the harsh conditions of brutal conflict. This is not just our local tragedy but a threat to the world at large.

Snapshot Symphony: 36

The number '36' is not just a figure; it's a tribute to an era and an approach to photography. With 36 frames being the standard for classic film, familiar to every photographer, each image was carefully considered, each moment especially valued in an age when a single roll of film held exactly 36 shots.

Patronage and Vision

The art photo series "Echo of War in 36 Frames", crafted from February 24, 2022, to September 13, 2023, is presented under the patronage of Grynyov Art Collection. At the heart of this project lies the ambition to convey to the world the true depiction of the aggression and the aftermath of the occupation forces' invasion into Ukraine.

Boris Grynyov:
- Monochrome in 'Echo of War in 36 Frames' is not merely a stylistic choice. In the realm of color photography, where a plethora of shades can fragment perception, black-and-white imagery establishes proportions between light and shadow, representing a singular color in various illuminative gradations. This allows the viewer to focus on the essence, on emotions, and details. Much like war, which bifurcates the world into black and white, eliminating all intermediary shades, our art photo series becomes a call to progressive humanity to witness and comprehend the depth of Ukraine's tragedy

Artist's Voice

The central figure of this photo collection is the renowned Ukrainian singer EL Kravchuk. Not wielding a gun but his true weapon—a microphone—he takes on the artist's mission and travels to the front lines, lifting the spirits of our defenders with his concerts and songs. His emotions and experiences, frozen in each of the 36 frames, have become a voice of hope that resonates powerfully across Ukraine. These shots do more than just capture moments of his life; they reflect the collective experiences and indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people
